broken syphon :(
i'm cleaning my tanks out,and i steped back and forgot my syphon was behind me,
and i trod on it,i've not completly mashed the "foot" but it's split the seam.
if i use aquarium sillicone will it stick it back together,or will i have to buy
a new one do you think.
many thanks. :-D
you could try the sealent. it may hold for awhile but you may need to get a new one
well i've stuck it back together with the sealent,
i'll let you know next weekend how i get on,if i remember.
aunt kimmy you sound like me!! Duck tape fixes EVERYTHING...that and superglue lol
i did the same thing!!!v i used 2-ton epoxy and it is still holding to this day. the epoxy is safe to put in the water of your tank because it hardens and does not dissolve.
LOCTITE at Lowe's: .85 Oz. Plastix Bonder Epoxy Syringe
this is the one i used because it is specifically made to bond plastic and that was available at the local lowes but there are many brands that esentially do the same thing. just make sure that you use the one that is made for bonding plastics and acrylics.
PS it will not hurt your tank or your water parameters/fish as long as you let it cure for the correct amount of time. i suggest that you let it cure for 24-48 hours before using it.
all of the above are good another option would be work fast with out the end and just use the hose it sux but it does work.....
the sealer seems to be holding:-D
i might be doing another change tomorrow now,so we'll see :)
