it looks like a bumblebee cichlid

willieturnip 11-22-2009 09:22 AM

How big is it?

It's the wrong shape for a bumblebee if you ask me, but this could be because it's a juvenile?

Tropheus moori from Lake Tang. Cant seemed to remember locality. its not a murago green, nor kaiser II.

What name did it come under?

These fish are one of difficult to keep fish in mixed AC, expecially with malawi. they tend to fare better either Lake Tang or Large SPecies Tank.
They are sensitive to massive water changes and hi-protein food. As matter of fact, feeding too much at once can develop someyhing similar to malawi bloat.

Stick to veggie/spirulina flakes and no frozen insect larvae.

It's pretty.

Looks like a juvie "sp. black" tropheus. Since it is so young it will be difficult to identify from what collection point.

Right on the money.

Coloring looks a bit off but that's proabably because of location. I would just like to add that these guys are extrmeyly prone to bloat so have mleafix or clout on hand just in case.
