What to add to keep your fish happy?
I seriously sat staring at my tank for a good 20 minutes last night just watching the fish and frogs...
quick recap of what I have.
6 glass catfish/ invisible catfish (whatever you prefer to call em)
2 medium sized balla sharks
2 african albino dwarf frogs?
I have some fake plants on the right side of the tank, some are up at the water line to provide some spots for the frogs to sit and enjoy. I also have three "openings" the fish have for coverage.
My question is, what can I add so the fish can have "fun" ? If that makes sense.
caves,rock formations,coconut houses,slate,boulders,
tubes to swim in and around.
more plants.bog/mopani wood.
HTH a bit.
you can do a lot of things. willow had all good answers. you can also get some live plants, if you put any rock in there that you find outside make sure that you clean them well. do not boil but pour boiling water over then and then test with vinager make sure it does not bubble. you can use clay pots to make caves also.
I can second willow's coconut idea, the frogs will love it, just make sure you drill a whole big enough for them to easily get in & out.
Maybe try adding some real plants?
For the tetra's to feel more homey: They're schooling fish so for which ever Tetra's you have you may want to see about adding 6-8 more of them.
gosh i forgot to say about making holes big enough,
i lost a couple of tiger barbs from them wedging themselves in a hole. :-(
i've still got the bog wood in question, however it now has bigger holes in it.
i think the worst culprit for wedging are clown loaches !!
OMG i forgot about those.
i've still got mine, can't kill em for the life of me.
