platy problem

One of the platys appears to have developed fin rot, its pretty bad. The tail looks like it deteriorated and half the body is whitish. I took it out into a bucket its still alive. I bought melafix, I don't know if I should put it back into the aquarium and treat everyone, or let it sit in the bucket until I can toss it.
Should I treat everyone anyway, or is it possible they're immune system will fight it off if its in the tank?

are you trating the platty or just waiting untill it passes? i am not a huge fan of culling but if that is what you are waiting for i personally feel the freezer method is kindest .. i know i know others will disagree but its MPO

That one is gone, I'm worried someone else in the tank might develop this since I read its bacteria caused. I dont want anyone else going this way, luckily I just bought this one a few days ago.

I would make sure the water is free of any ammonia and nitrites. Throw in some extra water changes, if you can. If the water is of good quality, their immune system should fight off any illness.
