dumb question

I was just woundering i I could use those plant spikes as food for the plants in my tank. They are normally use with house plants

Not sure just what 'spikes' you mean. But if you're considering using regular house plant food for the fish tank plants PLEASE DO NOT not only will this not help your plants it will more likely then not kill your fish.

I thought about it myself. But here's what I'd be concerned about. Plant sticks for house plants probably dissolve faster than plant sticks made for aqauriums. This would overload the tank with fertilizer. I've also seen where house fertilizers in liquid form contain more ferts per PPM. If the same were true for the sticks, this too would introduce too much fertilizer. But this is just my guess.

thanks

Just to throw in my agreement with Angel and WisFish. Aquatic plants require specific nutrients in porportion, and if memory serves me this is different from house plants and the dangers mentioned previously exist.

Byron.
