To snail or not to snail?
I was wanting to add a snail to my tank. However, I don't want lots of snails. Are there snails that won't reproduce so easily?
Who's living in your tank? With the right fish in there the small snails also may well be dinner :-)
Before we suggest any snail, it is important to know what your pH, KH and GH are. Tankmates and temperature should also be considered. Is the tank planted? Generally, soft acidic water is not appropriate for snails as acidic water can easily erode their shells. Calcium supplements needed by the snails will also affect hardness level and some fish are intolerant to rising hardness levels.
