Help with Blue Acara!

So I went to my LFS today and the lady that I know well there told me that they had about 20 cichlids that were surrendered in their planted tank and if my boys wanted them they could have them because she can't have them with the plants. So of course they wanted them as they have always wanted and never had any cichlids. Well after dismantling the entire tank and removing all of the plants we ended up with about 60 Blue Acara for FREE. We brought them home and split them up into 2 empty 10g that we have. All of our other tanks are full and not compatible with cichlids.
So, they are beautiful and my boys are in love but my question is, how long can we keep them in a 10g?? They are mostly small but probably half of them are about 2 inches?
Thanks for any help that u can offer

Not for long that's for sure. As far as NW cichlids go they are relatively peaceful, they will hit 6" as adults. Lucky for you Petco has their buck a gallon sale running, I'd take advantage of that if you have no other tank space.

If it were me I'd have them in a 40b, keep the best 12-15 for myself as a potential breeding project & sell off the rest in upcoming auctions & swaps.
