need advice on the compatibilitly of fish

I have a 2 inch tomato clown fish and just had a 3 to 4 inch maroon clownfish put on hold. Is this not a good idea because it will cause stress in the tank? Also ive heard that it depends on whether or not the fish is tank raised and im pretty sure it was tank raise so hopefully it wont be as aggressive.

It all depends on tank size and layout. Give us some more details. A picture would tell us a lot.
