I NEED HELP ASAP
ok well im not sure if its seriouse or noy but my new tank couple days old is cloudy...has 2 fish in it why is it cloudy everything is fine in the filter its filtering great....but water is coudy should i just change water??? well im taking ater to get tested tommarrow because wel this is only my second tank....my first one didnt urn out all that freat when i was little so i cant remember the water doing this befor....well sorry for the long post i just dont want this tank to go sour in any way
you need to get test kits for ammonia, ph, hardness and nitrites...
all your fish will die because you havent cycled the tank.....
the cloudiness is normal, just keep it fish-free for until you have no nitrites or ammonia and everything else is fine...:D
do note that without the fish you will need some other form of ammonia addition to the tank in order for it to cycle...
their are fish so i should move them to a new tank....my friend has a tank hes had for year.....how long is cycling usually last?
Hope this helps! :D
It would be best to move your fish in your friend's tank. In the meantime, I'd use either platies or danios to cycle the tank. Your friend may take them after cycling if he likes. Make sure that in the end, your ammonia and nitrites are zero. Any detectable level can kill your fish unfortunately.
