wet/dry with water change
Ok this may seem a stupid question, but do yall just shut down your wet/dry filter when you are doing a water change? This is the first water change since I started my wet/dry up last week. Or do I change the water from the holding tank under the tank?
Depends on how much water is changed and also volume of water in the w/d above pump.
If you are doing 20% water changes probably best to shut down the system and perform water changes from tank.
Shut down the system and see water level rising on the W/D. If level gets too close to rim of w/d, turn the system back on. In this case, you can start siphoning from tank a bit before shutting down the system.
I turn off my wet/dry when doing my water changes.
Ok makes since, I was thinking that it might do harm to leave it running due to the water getting below the overflow box and no longer going to the holding tank below
Thanks for the help, but due to how loud the wet/dry was I broke it back down for now. I couldnt find a way to quiet down the pump and it was driving my nuts. So I went back to the hang on the back type that is darn near silent
