Power compact bulb on acrylic tank
 

Still finding away to mount my powercompact bulb to my hood but in the mean time my tank needs the light.
I was wondering if there were any dangers or possibly something going wrong if i had the actual power compact bulb laying right on top of my acrylic tank? i know it gets really hot, will it melt the tank while sitting on it or will the bulbs get messed up?

I wouldn't for a couple reasons.

One laying it on top of the tank increases the risk of accidental breakage.

I lost a pair of t8 fixtures due to them being to close to the tank and the moisture killing the ballast.
