hi every one
this is the third time one iof my female discus iis laying eggs without any male around.
how could I make sure is there any male or not?
how could I make them ready to spawn?
:( :( :( :( :(
What size is your tank? Males have pointed tip on their vent but it is not visible until they are in spawning conditions unfortunately. I'd just leave the discus alone unless you plan to breed them.:)
the Females have the same things .
my tank size is 120*35*60 ( made 55 gallons)
and why there is no male in the spawning conditions, how could I make males to do that . or goes to conditions
Arash, this is difficult. Discus are often choosy about their partners. Unless you consult a discus breeder to help you with picking the males, you might just end up with another female or constant bickerings instead. Your lfs is not going to be of any help anyway so it's best to try searching for discus breeders in your area and ask for their help.
If there is a male in the tank he may be sterile or hopefully not mature enough yet to provide viable sperm. Some hybrid discus are indeed sterile. This is good, at times, unless one is trying to generate a new variety. Discus are particular about choosing a mate, but like most other animals, will make do when pickings are slim.
Thank you friends
In My area there is no honest seller. So I can't trust any one in my area.
blue Ifs means Seller?
So I only hope that one of my 6 last bought is male. and I bought deferent sized fish from a same tank.
is there any kind of attention for making the males ready to spawn(ph or temp)???
how can I determine they got pair?????
and another question is about how I can prevent others to eat eggs .
i afraid when there happen that , and if I change the tank they afraid and don't do that
