Stocking 55 gallon

I currently have a 55 gallon tank stocked with 3 silver dollars, 4 mollies, 3 female swords, 1 male sword, 5 cardinal tetra, 3 black skirt tetra, 4 cories, and 1 pleco. I was wondering what else I can add to bring more variety to the tank. I was advised not to put Angels in because I need a small shoal and don't have the room anymore. I was thinking perhaps a gourami (a dwarf if need be). Does anyone have anyother suggestions of a couple more fish to add to my tank? Would a gourami work in this tank?? Thanks for the help and opinions!

It already sounds as if your tank is fully stocked. Please keep in mind that these fish need space to grow as they mature, and as they get larger so will the amount of waste they put out. To add more fish to this tank would be to risk losing everything in it over the course of the next few months to a year.

Do you have plans for where to move the silver dollars when they get too large for the 55 gallon? 3 adult silver dollars are going to need much more than 55 gallons and they grow rather rapidly. Not sure what size they are now or what specific species of silver dollar, but on average you can expect them to get about 6 - 8 inches in diameter at full grown.. some up to 10 inches.

Also keep in mind that with both male and female live bearers in the tank, you will get more fish as they begin to spawn. Livebearing fishes can have 30 - 50 fry at a time, and they can do this every 30 days (for each female). While the other fish will eat any fry they can find, it is typical for at least a few from each spawn to survive... which would more than max out your tank in a very short time.

Best to leave it as is and watch closely for new additions to appear on their own.
