Python Siphon - Any Good?

With my new 50g tank, I am looking for something better to Siphon with. I have seen the Python Siphon system advertised as well as some other system at the LFS. These are the ones you screw into your tap, come with long hoses and claim to be drip free.

Does anyone have any experience with these?

Are they worth buying?

Please share some comments on your experience. Thanks in advance.

This is a good thread about the Python. http://www.tropicalfishkeeping.com/f...changes-31150/

I see I responded in the thread TM gave you, but I'll just mention it here in case it gets overlooked. I have found the Aqueon model to be better made than the Python, as I explain in that thread. If memory serves me they are comparably priced, but even if it is a bit more, knowing what I do now I would absolutely go for the Aqueon. Whichever though, this is the way to do pwc's in larger tanks.

OK, the Aqueon is it then. You mention the threads are better. Good advice and good link, thank you, both.

I like the idea of not have to run back and forth with big gallons of water! Not mention siphoning into the bucket as well. This seems like a substantially better system.

My 50g is located in a room with wall to wall carpet and I want a system that drips a minimal amount of water on the carpet.
