I want to set up a brackish tank.
Hi, I'm new to the club and wanted help on setting up a 55 gallon brackish water aquarium.
I know for sure I want archer fish but was wondering how many and what other fish I could get with them? Thanks
Welcome to the forum!
I have a 55 gallon brackish, with one Archer. I have read, that Archers will sometimes fight with their own species. With the potential size of an Archer, I worry that the single, could someday outgrow the tank.
The trick with brackish, is finding fish that are compatible and can live at the same salt level comfortably.
In my brackish tank, I have the Archer, Orange Chromides, Knight Gobies, Mollies, Nerite snails, and a Dragn Goby. (the Dragon Goby also has potential to outgrow the tank)
What I've read says most archers dont exceed 6 inches plus I'm getting the smaller breed.
I have read, most Archers, will not exceed 6 inches in an aquarium. I have had mine since May. He is around 4 inches now.
archers are picky eaters and are not that great in the aquarium
