Would you say my 10g tank is overstocked?
I have one Swordtail, One Hifin Platy (it doesnt even look like a hifin, it might be a painted platy, but it said hifin on the receipt) and two green lanterns platys. I have them in a 10 gallon tank. The tank looks a bit empty, because the green lanterns tend to hide in the reef at times. I want to get another fish for the tank, but I want to know what would be best.
I wouldn't say your tank is over stocked. If you want another fish I would suggest getting 1-3 pygmy corys. I also have a ten gallon tank and it has 1 killifish, 3 neon tetras and 2 pygmy corys. They are fun little fish with lots of personality! mine are always on the move and swim all over the bottom of the tank. You could also get a species of non aggressive killifish. They are very colorful and are best if their is only one killifish in the tank. They are very interesting fish. they are very bold and usually spend most of their time in the top half of the tank.
Swords get much too large for a 10gal. Most of what you see in the pet store or about 1/2 grown or stunted. If your sword grow toits full potential you should have a 4" fish.
