Possible new addition
ok so i have a 55gal with x2 yellow labs and x2 blue johanni. both of the johanni are male and i have one VERY dominant male that is pretty much the alpha of the tank. ive read somewhere that johnnni are one of the more aggressive territorial out of the african cichlids and im looking into buying some more africans. i know that is it suggested to keep the lakes together but thats not what im trying to achive.
now im looking at buying the fish that is pictured here (sorry about the un intentional plug mods) if anyone could give me some imput on if i should get females males and i wanna get a minimum of two. but if i get females will the johanni be even more aggressive towards the other males now that there would be a female in the tank? and if i got two males would it turn into the situation i have now between my two johanni? cause now one is pretty stressed faded color and ALWAYS hides under the filter out of site from putnik.
thanks in advance everyone!
Hey money. They are a very aggre fish to they are the demasonis. They will be fine in your tank eather way you go male female> Just get them the same size as your johannis. I just orderd 3 of them and they are one inch. and they killed my 1.5 inch red velvit swordtail. So i would say they can handle there own. I would get them. Good luck. Now do you want them to breed? If so get one male two females.
well right now im just trying to get my tank fully stocked and one thing i want to avoid is cross breeding and have all kinds of hybrids lol. im gunna wait to breed untill i upgrade but thats far down the road. so your sayin two females would be good? and just to make sure again they wont have ANY egg spots correct?
ok i would get males then if you dont want any cross breeding. Your johanni might breed with them. yes corect on the egg spots.
You should get these instead of the other you got. lol IMO
still might get some of these, idk i figure if i get more rock and get more caves everything might be ok. so far the livingstoni is just chillin.
