Used 2 Foot Tank Help

So i just bought this 2 foot tank on ebay. And currently i have a 5 gal now with 4 platys and 2 weather loaches, i know its very wrong but thats why iv got this new one. Im trying to figure out how many gal this is.

2 Questions

There was no problem with the cycle in the 5 gal, will it be different with this because its bigger?

How many fish can i put in a 2 foot, along with the ones i have now?

take the LxWxH (in inches) and divide by 231. example: 24in x12in x 14in divided by 231 = 17.45 gal

water params are easyier to maintain in larger tanks in my experience.
