question about convicts
How long does it usually take for them to grow full size?
I've had mine since they were babies (about 4 weeks ago).
could take up to a year depending on size of tank. and what the conditions are that there in.
mine took like 3 months. i got them when they were about 1 month old. they had babies twice already and its been 4 months!
hopefully mine grow that fast.
what do you recommend would be a good size tank for just two convicts?
30 gallon for starters. and then up to a 55 gallon. I have never had them But i think you could kkep them in a 30 ok at adult hood. Dont quote me tho.
Okay cuz most people usually tell me between 10 and 30...I'm thinkin about gettin a 10. Is that good?
i would say30 they breed like rabits
if it is any help, I used to have convicts in a 30 gallon for about 6 years, love these fish, along with firemouths and jack dempsey's, they all seem to have the same temperament.
and yes, convicts breed very easily, you should be good with a 30 gallon, I had a 33 gallon when I used to keep freshwater.
is it safe to have 3 convicts in a 10 gal if theres two females and one male?:-?
i wouldnt recomend it. i would still do a 30 or larger as they have lots of fry
