Who likes Panda Garras?
Im interested in theses little guys to keep my plants and surfaces clean. My Royal Pleco can only do so much. Plus theyre just cool looking. However i know NOTHING about them. Whats there temperament? Do they get nasty like other algae eaters? I was told they get around 2.5 inches but thats about it. If anyone keeps them any info on your experience would be greatly appreciated. :-)
I looove Panda's! They love River type eco-system's with lots of rocks and faster moving waters. They generally get to 2.5-3 inches although some will reach 3.5 at times I believe. They will be fine solo but tend to get aggressive with their own species and other's in their territories but are fine with mid-high level dwellers. But each are different with their own personalities.
That's pretty much all I know about them :-) http://www.seriouslyfish.com/species/garra-flavatra/
Will they be ok with Corys and Angels? I know that other algae eaters tend to grow fond of slime coating on other fish especially broad sided fish like Angels. Is there a "magic" number I can keep cuz id like to keep more than 1?
That I don't know because I haven't actually kept them, I just did a bunch of research on them a while ago when I wanted to keep them.
Pandas prefer company :) I'd say a minimum of three 3 should be kept~
they will establish a pecking order ^_^
Because of their big personality and friendly nature, They're one of my favoriiitteee fish!
