Need help with cloudy tank
Hi, I'm baffled and would appreciate your help.
I upgraded from a 20g to a 46g about a month ago and can't get the water to clear. It was close last night and I thought adding the Magnum HOT set up with a micron filter, added to my Emporer 400 was finally doing it, but this moring it's as dark as it's ever been.
Up 'til now, I'd been thinking I had a green water problem, but now I realize that getting darker over night is a repeating theme. That just doesn't make sense to me.
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 0
Heavily planted - all doing very well
7 Dwarf Rainbowfish
2 Butterfly loaches
1 Otto cat
7 Sterbai cories
3 Dwarf Loaches
I use Flourish Excel a irregularly.
All fish seem health and happy. The rainbowfish exhibit mating activites.
I have to admit to overfeeding sometimes, but not last night and this mornings cloud is the worst ever. Besides, I didn't cause this in my 20 and my feeding habits haven't changed.
maybe try adding some carbon to clear things up, or it could just be some bac floating in ur tank.
Thanks, Money, I'll try that for awhile. The tank is clear now, but that's typical at end of day, so i'm not getting excited about it.
I'll load some carbon in and see what happens.
np just remember to remove the carbon after about three weeks or itll start to leech back into the aquarium
