Neons Ok, My tank is shaping up (75 gallon). I have 6 ottos, 5 marbled corries, and 33 neons. Now what? What would be a nice, easy to maintain, and interesting tank mate(s) to finish up the stocking list? |
a bunch more of some other kind of tetras would work for your tank.....See whats available in your area fish stores........Rummynoses look great with neons.......Just a suggestion |
A group of Harlequin Rasporas would be nice do not let the color you see in the pet store fool you they get a pretty red tint when they get comfortable and are not stressed out. I have 6 in my 44 gallon as well as 6 Neons and they look really pretty swimming in there little groups. Here is a picture of what they look like: http://www.dfki.uni-kl.de/~elst/html...ine/p-afsu.jpg |
iv got a 50 gallon tank with 12 neons 6 silver hatchet fish 3 pearl gourami 6 zebra danios and 2 zebra loaches and they all get along great. if your interested in zebra loaches though get a minimum of 5, i got 2 and found out they like to stay in groups of 5 or more but by time i went back to my lfs to get more they were out of stock |
thanks guys, good ideas. |

I've got Harlequins and Rummies together. Both are great schoolers. 33 neons...must see pics!:-D |
Recently added some Lemon Tetras to one of my tanks . They are quite handsome I think. Had to ask fish store to order them for me. They had a couple but I wanted a dozen. Considering that I spend money at their shop,, they had no problem with my request. Perhaps this would be something to consider? |
Yeah, I like the Lemons too. They color up real nice once they settle into the tank. |
I really like the lemons |
