Hi, newbie here!
Hey, folks! Don't mind the name; I'm not here to troll, promise! I'm a second-year biology student in need of something fun to do when my nose isn't buried in a book, so I've decided to look into fishkeeping again. I've kept tropical freshwater fish since I was old enough to say plecostomous without twisting my tongue in two, but I know I still have a lot to learn. That hobby has waned in favor of others, such as being in my university's marching band. However, now that I'm miles away from my cats and hermit crabs, I'm starting to want a few animals to take care of. Fish are all that I'm allowed to have, I'm two hours away from home, and ten gallons is the limit, so I'm going to see if I can work under these conditions. Smells like a challenge!
I also have a thread about how I plan to bring fishkeeping back into my life. You can view it right here
. Please do so; I need advice very badly!
As far as other details go, I like to play a variety of video and computer games; my long-time favorites include the Zelda and old-style Megaman series. I also enjoy playing tabletop games such as Dungeons and Dragons 3.5e and World of Darkness with my friends. Instrument-wise, I'm most proficient in flute and piccolo, but I've also dabbled in Native American flute and hand drum, alto saxophone, piano, and classical, acoustic, electric, and bass guitars. My favorite musical styles (both to play and listen to) are hard rock, classic rock, progressive metal, jazz, swing, and an innumerable variety of orchestral genres.
Well, that's my little blurb. It's great to be here, and I hope I'll be sticking around for awhile.
