is 40 gal. big enough for loach tank?
I'm lookkng to set up a loach tank but all I have to use is a 3' , 40gallon breeder tank. I think this could work because I have a powerhead for circulation and a good filter too. I have never kept loaches before so I thought it might be wise to seek the advice of someone who has experience. Thanks
All depends on the species of loach :-) It's certainly large enough for the small species, like the dwarf chain and kuhlis. Assuming the tank is 18 inches wide, the largest I would keep are zebras.
I really like kuhli loaches. Any tips on how many for my tank or special care they require?
I'd get at least 10. No special care really - just sand for substrate is all.
