My first 55 gallon fish tank
 

Like the title says, I am excited to be getting into the world of fish tanks. I have a 55 gallon tank. I have yet to get fish because the tank isn't ready and I need to get a few more things before I am ready for fish. here is a pictures of what it looks like so far.

I will keep this thread updated as I upgrade my tank :) Comments/suggestions are always welcome! Constructive critisism never hurts!

It looks nice, you could try a few more plants on the sides of the castle.

Your tank looks great - I've never seen such a big castle! Like the blue gravel, too.

I do need a few more plants. I didn't want to buy to many at first, because I wasn't really sure. But today I am heading to the store to get some more. I will of course post more pics.

The gravel also has some black mixed into it. Ill take a better picture and post it in a min :)

may i also ask what filter you have? it looks like a top fin filter, please not that top fin filters are very bad, i would suggest you buying a bio-wheel like the emporer or penguin models or get a wisper three part filtration that contains three different compartments

do to all your equipment it looks like you got the top fin starter kit, next time i wouldnt go with top-fin, the all-glass heater is also quite low quality, other than all this your tank looks great, the castle will provide many caves where the fish can hide, nice mix in gravel too

you can raise the water line bast the black area on the top of your tank to prevent those bubbles that i see near the filters outake, also placing the filter in the middle of the tank would be better so all parts of the tank will recieve good filtration.

Looks like a great start. I've been wanting a castle like that for a tank of mine, but the price of the nice ones are a little out of my price range.
A background would help the tank look larger.

what kind if lighting you running there? did you buy it ? or did it come with the tank?>

the lights came with the tank. The pictures make it look a lot brighter than it really is
