Stocking my 20g
I have a 20g tank. This will be upgraded to a 100g in 4 weeks. Then to a 8ft tank in 2 months after that.
Atm in my 20g I have a 1" Red Tailed Shark with a 2" Bristlenose plec.
What else can I add? My local pet shop has a few 2" bala sharks, I was thinking of buying one or two or three even!
Could people suggest what to do from now?
Ive just put the shark in, so far he has swam around for a bit and has begun playing in the jetstream from my aquaflow 100l. He isnt black atm, how long will this take to rectify?
Hello and welcome to the forum!
I would wait till you have that larger tank before getting any bala sharks. Balas do better in groups and grow very fast. They also do not make good cycle fish, sensitive to any ammonia or nitrite levels.
The red tail sharks are known to be somewhat aggressive at times. If it where me, I would just leave the tank as is, till you can upgrade.
Ok thanks for your input :)
Thanks for the welcoming.
How long will it take for my RTBS to go back to black? Out of the bag he was white, i believe its due to stress?
I have never owned a RTS.
Was he black at the store then faded in color on the trip home? Yes, fish do fade in color when stressed.
Did you dechlorinate your tank water? Do you have a test kit for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph? If so, what are your readings?
Having the light out on the tank, will help fish relax some, I would try turning the light out for a while.
