Would like to share some of the driftwood I collected today...picture shown are freshly collected, not cleaned yet, still cover with muck :)
This one is today's JACKPOT!
very cool! where did you find it? did you buy it or actually found it along a shoreline?
Found it at the seashore :D .....coz I was having a hard time finding driftwood in the LFS that have shape that suits my need:)
so I decided to go collect from the shore
wow!!! your lucky that available to you
Haha, thanks guppy.....:D
just curious, is there any way you cold sell me some pieces im sure it would be alot cheaper than the lfs to get it from you but then again depends how much S&H would be.
The only thing I would caution is to first let it dry out, I mean bone dry to make sure that anything waterborne is dead. Then boil it to be sure. Finally let it soak for a good long time.
The problem with collecting it like that is that you have no idea where it came from. It might have drifted through oil slicks, waste water treatment effluent, who knows what. Dry out, boil, and soak should get most anything nasty out of it.
Tyyrlym : Thanks Tyyrlym for the advise :D..... I really need to give it a good cleanup
aunt kymmie: Thanks Aunt for the guide to ship driftwood.......Looks like I have a lot to do if I ever gonna ship 1.......haha :D
Well if Money Mitch offers to pay for the shipping just use regular postal (not Fed Ex like I did) and mark your packsge "home goods", and not "a branch" like I did. LOL
