Invisible wall syndrome...
So I've finally got my new 55 set up and planted. I've begun the process of transferring my fish over to their newer, larger home one at a time. So far I've noticed that each fish as I put them in doesn't fully comprehend what has actually happened.

I put them in and they begin to explore around, but when they get to the midline of the tank (the normal area of the 29 that they had been in) they all stop dead in their tracks and swim back around to the other side. They don't realize there's more tank to go.

OMG it's so funny.

So far with the two fish in there it has taken them each about an hour to figure out that there is no wall, but up until then they just put on the brakes and come to a halt, looking confused. Both fish have had leap of faith moments as they finally figured things out...stopping at the "wall", getting up the courage and finally swimming like crazy through their perceived can just see it in their movement that they are so excited "Wow more room!". Too funny.

Ahaha! That's cute! Good thing they figured it out!

And to think other people say that fish are boring pets since they have no personality... they're wrong!

btw, what fish are they?

have you finished putting them all in yet,
i wonder what would happen if you put fish in both halves........
would they meet in the middle ?

Out of all my fish, only my two mollies figured it out right away. The rest took a few hours for them to figure it out. I really should have video taped it.
