HELP! My ammonia keeps spiking
My ammonia keeps spiking every 1-2 days. I keep treating with ammo-lock but it just comes back. I have added a bacteria supplement to help control it. The spikes have slowed a little. What should i do.
the ammo lock converts toxic ammonia to non toxic ammonium, in this case the converted ammonium will also read on a ammonia test. cut your feeding down to once a day stop adding chems and perform water changes up to 50% sometimes everyday to keep your ammonia under control. there is no such thing as a "instant cycle in a bottle" just things that promote the growth of the bac. just follow that advice and be patient, remember only bad things happen fast in aquariums not good things. Money
So i will do a 50% water change an gravel vac tomorrow. And just to be clear that this ammonium isnt harming my little buddies.
no, as long as your following the instructions on the chem you be fine with everday WC
