Help me design a sump I am setting up a 55g saltwater. with a 20g long tank as a sump and refugium. I understand the first 2 baffels should be about 1" apart. How tall should they be in a tank 12" deep? how big should the inflow section be? I assume the section for the return [pump] needsto be big enough to handle the equipment and plumbing. And, what kind of flow should I look at with the pump, using a relief tube back into the sump to equalize the flow. Sorry if some of my wording is not correct. |
have you read http://www.fishforum.com/sumps-refug...g-sumps-15943/ ? |
I printed off your excellent article, and started a sump using a long 20 gallon tank. My middle compartment is big enough for a skimmer, as is my inlet compartment. I used some 1/4" acrylic for the baffles. My tank has just been set up with live sand and I have a bunch of live rock ready to go. Starting to get fun. Thanks again for the excellent info. |
