My New Discus

Added a new discus to my community tank yesterday. Not really sure what kind of cross he is (LFS who is the breeder told me but I wasn't paying... he is e-mailing me some info on this guy and his others). He is adapting very well and actually nibbled on some food on day 1 and has ventured out of his initial hiding place .. which are good signs.

My PH is 6.8 and the temp is between 79 and 81 (identical to the tank he was currently in). He was raised in a tank with intentionally varying PH levels and temperatures as the LFS/BREEDER can not be sure as to the conditions his fish will end up in.

Any guesses what type he is?

Yep, looks like a pigeon blood to me as well. Mine didn't eat for several days when I first got them, and then it was only frozen food for a couple of weeks until they figured out by watching the angels that the strange flake things floating past them = food.

They are kinda the dorky goofballs of my tank, great fun to watch. Very friendly little (for now) fish. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine.
