Do you feed seaweed?

I see seaweed flats for sale, and they say they are also good for freshwater fish. Anyone use them? What color does your fish prefer? I am getting some Hikari sinking wafers and thought I'd try the seaweed with a veggie clip. I like to feed my fish a wide variety of foods. I just don't know what color to get, as I keep reading it comes in green, red, brown, purple, and whatever else. Would it be worth it? And what color do most freshwater fish prefer?

So I'm not sure what "seaweed flats" are but I do feed my african cichlids seaweed. but the fishstore dried version is so messy I prefer to go to a asian market and get the real stuff. They love it. I have only used a green slightly brown kind...not exactly sure what you're talking about. A link or pic would help

Here's a link of some of the green variety.

They also sell it on ebay in different colors.

OK yes I have tried those.. they make a mess of the tank for a bit. But perfectly fine for freshwater. Seaweed or Zucchini in most of my aquariums is a big hit..it's half a play toy half food to them..And my variety of fish is pretty wide.

Sounds like fun for the fish! Just how bad of a mess does it make? It clear up again though, I presume. Thanks for replying, I think I'll try it.

A mess lol. But yes the filter will clear up what the fish let fly. wet it first use a clip with a suction cup to stick it to the glass.

Thank you, and yes, I was planning on getting a clip. I'll try a small piece first, lol. Thank you again!
