Ive read that tiger barbs and some other fish lilke to eat veggies like cucumber
how do you do that? just cut off a slab and pop it in?
or do you need to cut it small enough to fit in their mouths?
also would guppies or dojo loaches like this? im sure my ramshorn snails would :)
You need to buy a veggie clip or weigh it down some other way. Zucchini is good but you should blanch it first (partially cook it).
Remove it if it doesn't get eaten after a few hours or so. My tetras love Romaine lettuce :)
Hi, I use cucumber and I dont blanch it. Just wash really well, cut a 1/2 slice or so and spear it to a stainless steel fork. My guppies and platies love it. I usually leave it for no longer than 2 days and the only thing left is the rind. They might not go for it the first time you try it but keep trying until they realize its food, they will love it.
My fish get frozen peas a few times a week. I thaw them and remove the skin. For my tiger barbs, I squash the peas into bits.
Ooooh I've got to try that. I have 4 barbs. Do you squash them up and let them sink or do the bits float?
I've got two Bosemani Rianbows that are going to do whatever they can to keep the barbs away from those bits.
Can't wait to try peas now.
Yea, my rainbows also like the peas.
They sink. My tiger barbs are pretty fast at catching the peas.
oki doki! ill give it a try!
is it better for them to give em some cucumber a few times a week than just flakes?
