Snail Eggs!!! Now what????? Ok so i was looking at my tank today. I was examining the little white specs on the glass [which i think now are algae or SOMETHING i still really dont know what it is] and i was looking around, and guess what i found?! A sticky goupy glob of what looks like snail eggs. I tried to take a pic but my camera sucks and i cant get a good pic. its like this glob of goop with little specs in it. they look like eggs with white dots. what should i do? D: |
i just found two more groups of snail eggs |
Are they snail eggs or fish eggs? how big are they? |
I see pond snail eggs on my tank walls all the time, but most of the time the eggs get eaten or I just never happen to see the babies. Yet my snail population stays stable so obviously some survive. Good luck finding out what they are. |
im 99.7% sure they are snail eggs. my guppies are live bearers and dojo loaches are nearly impossible to breed in an aquarium other than guppies and dojo loaches i have nothing else in the tank |
If you dont want a bunch of snails then i would take them out. But if they could be fish egg i would leave them. Up you tho. |
well there are three spots where the eggs are would it really hurt the tank to let them hatch and let them grow a bit n maybe give em to my LFS or something? |
Snails can reproduce without mating so you are asking for trouble leaving snail eggs unless you want snails. |
Yep, they sound like snail eggs. I have a tank full of ramshorn snails. When I get to many, I offer them at shipping cost. That is one option. There are some people that need them for puffer food or just want some snails in their tanks. |
so it wouldnt hurt my bioload or anything to keep em n raid em up a bit? then i could offer them in the classified section of this forum right? how would one ship them? |
