when i do my water changes i can not get all the water out of my python.
Do you have it hooked up to the sink to drain?
You have to have the sink water running. I find that if I turn the sink water on all the way, I get more suction to drain the python.
When I do water changes, I drain the water out the window, so when I am done draining, I throw the rest of the python out the window. I drain the python outside, before bringing it back into the house. If I hold one end up and start wrapping it around my arm, like you would an extension cord, all the water comes out.
out of the window??? I like it. that might work. now to get the mold out of there....
For some reason, I do not have a problem with mold growing in my python. I have it in some of my other gravel cleaners and to be honest, I just leave it the way it is.
The mold is from leaving the water that I couldn't get out of it. I bet I could get it out with some bleach. Then run warm water through it for a while to make sure it is all out.
How to drain the python: When you've finished filling the tank, reverse the valve to drain it again and lift the python out of the aquarium when it starts to drain the water out. Hold it up until the water has retreated back (the tap is still on draining it) and slowly roll the tube up from the end, working your way back to the sink. When you get to the sink, ensure the last water is out, turn off the tap, and disconnect the python.
