I agree. Most bags of gravel say on it that you should use 2 pounds per gallon. I used 1 pound per gallon and it is more then enough. I can't image using double that. It's ridiculus. They tell you that so you will purchase more. Don't fall for it. It also depends on if you're gonna create a aquascape with hills. I heard people say that too much gravel isn't good and dirtier. Don't know if that's true. Go with 1 per gallon and if you decide you want more, go and get it.
