So It's Been a Few Weeks
I've had my 10 gallon for about three weeks now, and the girls who are not girls are doing great. Lotus had a slightly torn fin when I got her (him) but it's growing back pretty quickly (it's really just one little section of fin that's a bit longer than the rest.) Ponyo seems to be coming out of her (his) shell and spending more time with the others, and Plasma is just cruising along, usually at Lotus's side.
The tank is doing great, but it's kinda...empty. There's one plant, and one kinda dark and depressing castle my mom put in. I want to add some color to the tank, and I want to add some fish.
I wanted an algae eater, 'cause they've always been among my favorite fish, but mom insists my tank needs to be established for six weeks before that.
So what can I add? I don't want to crowd my guppies, but it's such a dull and lifeless tank. The only color and life comes from the guppies themselves. What can I do to bring out my tank's potential?

Your mom is right about an algae eater as there is nothing for them to eat yet. How many guppies do you have? Are they all male? Not too many choices with a 10 gal tank, you dont want to overcrowd/overstock it.......

How about adding some more plants.

I agree add some more plants maybe a different decoration instead of the castle your mom put in there if its ok with her of course.

3 male guppies, and you're right, I need to bring in some color and life with decorations, though I do want to add another fish eventually.
