ok i have 2 baby oscars and i was wondering if they could of spiked somthing into my finger when i was petting them because it has a bump and when i rub my finger over it it feels like a sliver. i know oscars have spikes on them but i dont know if they come off can anyone tell me? also if he did spike me what should i do about iv been sucking on my finger all do to try to get w/e it is out of there, i have also been poking at it with my knife :/
I'd look into their fins and see if there are rays that seem to have been unusually shorten.
Use tweezers to remove the spine.
i cant seem to find it tho thats what im saying its weird
Got any melaleuca oil (tea tree oil)? If you keep putting that on it, generally the "sliver" of whatever it is will come to the surface. My hubby is a home builder and gets wood in his fingers fairly often, and this always works. I didn't know you could "pet" an oscar though!! Cool fish!!
