70g tank
Looking for suggestions on a stocking list for my tank. I have gotten a few suggestions but I'm just trying to get some more input. I would like only small fish, max 6" and it will be a planted tank. So far I think I will be putting in 1 betta, 1 redtail shark, and some tetras

you could try some barbs... but with a betta in the tank i would stay away from from the long finned type so maybe a school of tiger barbs and/or cherry barbs?
some gourami. loaches or eels on the bottom along with some cories?

There are tons of things you can do. First, IMO, the tiger barbs suggested will pick the betta's fins completely. Tigers are notorious fin nippers and limit what else you ca have safely.

The redtail shark could cause problems down the line once fully grown. I would just make sure to keep a careful eye on things as it grows.

I would start at the top level, the betta and maybe get a dwarf gourami or two. You may also consider a top water minnow or killie. A few contrasting color Sail Fin Mollys would work as well.

In the middle, a nice school of Head and Tail Light tetras along with a school of regulor and albino cherry barbs would look nice. You could also get a nice school of penguin tetras. Penguins are one of my favorites. You could also add a small school of gold barbs or harliquin rasboras.

On the bottom you could go with shrimp or corys or both. You may want to look at the moderate size loaches, but keep in mind many loaches grow large eventually. If shrimp are out 2 pairs of kribs would look nice. I would mix albino and normal kribs. Rainbow Cichlids would work also.

I really like the shrimp idea, I will be adding some of those. Those cherry barbs look really nice as well, for the Gouramis I was thinking maybe the Sparkling Gouramis? How many of those should I add for them to be happy? I was also wanting to add some freshwater clams and a few red lobsters, anyone have any experience with those?

i have crawfish and mine will try to catch anything that moves. i believe they would eat the shrimp and they like to cut and move live plants, mine also pull up plastic plants but they can be kept with fish just expect to lose some of them
