small tank heater and filter?
Any suggestions for brand and model # for a heater and filter for a 2.5 gallon aquarium for a male betta? Also any suggestions on a cover with a light?
I currently have poor Mr Blue in a large ( 1 gallon ) brandy glass with marbles ono the bottom and water sprite floating on top. Would like to move him to the 2.5 tank that my paradise fish is in and I guess I will take the paradise back to the store after learning that he needs a larger tank than I can provide.
A 2.5 gallon would be a great size for a betta. I don't know anything about filters but I recommend the Marineland Stealth visitherm heater, 25 watts. I hope this helps.
A small sponge filter (connects to a small air pump0 would be fine. Heaters can be a problem, the smaller ones are usually the ones that give out sooner. But keep an eye on it, and buy a good reputable brand, not the cheapest they carry--they are more expensive, but that means less likely to give out.
i reccomend a visa therm 25 watt stealth by marineland (great products are put out by them) as far as filters go get a low gph powerhead and a spongefilter for it and ur betta will be more than happy. Money
Not to be contrary but a powerhead isn't needed in a 2.5 gl betta tank. Nearly all bettas have problems with any "current" in the tank due to their hampered swimming ability because of their long flowing fins.
A sponge filter and a heater and you're good to go.
i stand corrected as i said im not a "betta expert" :P
