gourami question

hey guys.
the tank has cycled :-D and i'm looking at fish ideas,
i'm running the idea of gouramis, but don't know which to choose from ?
any help would be cool,thanks.

So it's about 100 US gallons? Or? Gouramis can be a bit touchy, as they do better with lower PH, and tannins in the form of driftwood and leaf litter. I have kept several species of chocolate gouramis and loved them. I am presently keeping some licorice gouramis which are awesome, but way small for a tank that size.
Some people do well with honeys or blues.
Have you considered rainbows?

hi
i'm up for any suggestions :-D
all this big wet box has at the moment is 6 tiger barbs and snails.
i'm not fussed about the snails as the loaches i intend to get will polish
them off.
i like the pearl Gourami ,but i also like some of the more brightly coloured
types also.

You could keep a school of pearls in a tank that size.

What loaches and what snails? They all don't eat everything.

willow 10-19-2013 01:38 PM

one male and the rest females ? the pearls that is. how many you think ?
snails are MTS and another ones which i think came in on some plants,i don't know
what they are,as they're really small.
i'm not bothered if the loaches don't eat the snails,i'll put them in my garden pond.
i'm thinking on a smaller than yoyo loaches perhaps ? i'm still thinking
on stocking to be honest,id like a raphael catfish, corys, loaches,
and the Gourami that's about as far as i've got,i keep changing my mind.
not a bad thing as the tank is going well, the plants are coming along well,
so it should be nice and ready for when i do get fish,

I've only tried multiple males once and the new one didn't play well with any of the others so I got rid of it. I'd like to get a few more, including another male and see if the same thing happens. I currently have 5 or 6
