How do i feed my 2 nerite snails?
I just got 2 nerite snails and they ate the whole algae from my tank, so now it's totally clean...but, i have no idea what should i give my snails now. I tried sinking algae wafers, but my fish eat them instead of the snails. How many days can they be without food? I'm nervous...:|:|:|
Nerite snails can be picky eaters. You can try blanching some leafy greens or zucchini for them, not all will go for it though.
Another option is to grow some algae. Put some aquarium safe rocks in a container with water covering them. Throw in a little fish food. Put the container outside, a sunny window, or under a plant light.
Oh, also, do i just put the container with algae(or the rock) inside the aquarium?
You should get some good algae growing on the rocks, then place the rocks in your tank.
Are Nerites candidates for Lupin's Snail Jello recipe? If so, I'll attach.
They can go with pea-flavored snail jello otherwise you're pretty much left with the option to keep sustaining algae supply. That's the trouble with nerites and trapdoor snails. Picky eaters.
