Hi I'm new to fishforum

I live in northern Indiana, at the tip of lake michigan. I got my frist tank at the age of 10, 1952. I've had at least one tank set up for the 57 years that followed .Right now I have 9 tanks running, 5- 40 gal. 3- 55 gal. and 1-125 gal., all planted freshwater tanks. When I started all the fancy filters etc. were not invented yet, so to keep a healthy tank ,plants were the way to go, I guess it stuck, cause I still have more plants then fish. Yes the fish are HAPPY. keeping some ciclids in a planted tank takes a bit of work, but course gravel and valisneria makes it doable.
