I've got to say, if you want to breed kribensis in a 20 g, you might want to forgo the schooling fish. You could do a trio of guppies with the krib (1m, 2f), but some trouble might come with a krib spawning. Even the male krib might not be safe with a female guarding babies, but that varies tank to tank.

To combine livebearers of any type with kribs, a lot of plants would be in order.

I have heard (I don't know from first hand experience) that in a 20 g (preferably long and not the tall variety), the male krib should be safe after a spawning so long as there are a variety of hidey places.

I should say, too, that if you were to have zebra danios or white cloud mountain minnows (i.e., hardy fast fish that never leave the surface), you shoud be ok to have a school with them. Some recommend it as dithers.
