AquaClear Foam Insert?

OK, so I have an Aquatech filter that is missing the beneficial bacterial pad. It's the one that is supposed to stay there forever, and just be rinsed when needed and reused again. Aquatech doesn't sell these individually, so I'm stuck without one.

I'm using a plain white cutout pad in place of the beneficial bacteria pad, but the problem is that it is starting too fall apart (I believe they are only good for about a month). I want something that won't fall apart and that can be reused for at least a year, preferably longer.

I was looking at the AquaClear Foam Insert right here AquaClear 110 Power Filter Media | Pet Solutions and I was thinking maybe I could get this and cut it to fit my Aquatech 20-40 Gal Filter.

Is there someone out there that has this type of filter that can tell me how long these last before needing to be replaced? Or maybe there is something better I can use that someone can tell me about. All feedback is appreciated ;-)

Contact custodial staff at a school or university if you are able to ,and ask them If they would be willing to part with an edging scrub pad, or Doodlebug pad used for scrubbing edges of floors, hallways, and rooms during the stripping of floors. If the pad you are looking for is the black pad found in the aquatech filters, then this may work for you. Be sure and ask for a new one that has not been used.
I cut one of these to fit an aquatech 30/60 and it has worked well for almost a year now. I strip and seal and wax floors for local school district and we call these pads Doodlebug Pads.

The Aquaclear stuff holds up very well. I've had a chunk of foam in my Eclipse tank for over six months with no sign of deterioration. Since each box has three blocks of foam in it that's a pretty good value.

It's like 3 or 4 bucks in a store, why waste the money on shipping?
