1 cory, 1 betta, 5 gallon?
I have an old male betta living in a 5 gallon tank with one cory cat. Filtration and heating. Is this aight?

Not really. Cory cats are shoaling species of fish. Need at least 3 to be happy, more actually. Min 10 gallons. Plus sand substrate for there delicate barbels.

I'd actually suggest a school of 5 no less but I do find your tank to small to stock them up now.

I've got two spotted cories in my 5 gal betta tank. They were together at Petco with no other cories for a few months and are good buddies. That's the only reason I took them home.
All is well so far. The spotted cories aren't supposed to get too big (at least that's what I was told).

in my experience all cory species are too big to be comfortable in a 5 gallons, even the dwarf species
