Fresh to the site

What's up yall? Name's Marshall, youtube channel is www.youtube.com/sirreal303

Been keeping fish since a kid and just kinda got back into the hobby. Wifey also keeps fish (MrMomsSister303), and her brother is MrMomTanks of FiredUpAquatics. Also, JfleshTanks is her cousin who is also involved with Fired Up.

Her and I currently have 9 tanks active with somethin like 300+ gallons. We live on the 3rd floor which kinda limits us with fish tanks but as u can see, it can be done lol.

Current list is:
5g, 10g, (2) 20L, 25g, 40L, 55g, (2) 75g

We've got everything from community to cichlids to predator to shrimp. Hopefully that'll be helpful to some on these forums, look forward to discussion with some of yall.

It's always good to have more people with african cichlid experience. There aren't all that many here.

What's in your predator tank?

Welcome!

Haven't really taken many pics but HD vids on my youtube. Gonna be postin a new vid soon. Our camera on the lowest quality still shoots super huge pics so I gotta edit them down or it's like 5 gig's a photo shoot lol. I'll try to shrink a few and attach them in a minute.

I've got and have had a bunch of preds. Currently (not all in the same tank) I've got a jardini arowana, silver arowana, ornate bichir, endlicheri bichir, 2 hujeta gar, striped pike characin, tire track eel, 2 clown knives, fw lionfish (stonefish), tiger shovelnose, and a red pacu... Have previously had a payara, teacup stingray, red tail brycon, and some other nonsense.

I buy/sell/trade quite a bit with some of the LFS around here so I go through stock often.

Cheers.

Yay! African cichlids :-D
OMG finally....I've been waiting for anyone else with them.
BTW Do I see a Black Calvus there? hard to tell from that picture. I have one and I love him.

SirReal303 10-02-2013 11:34 AM

Yeah I've got tons of calvus/alto comps. Firefin, white, zebra, nkamba bay yellow, gold head muzi, kasakalawe, black ink spot. I think I've got 11 total.

In the process of movin Africans from my 55 to a new 75 but tons of those too. Lots of peacocks, haps, and mbunas.

Sounds great. I only keep 2 haps in my Mbuna tank because I find target feeding hard to do in large numbers. Well 3 if you count the Sunshine peacock that grew up to be a female(which eventually is going back to the store). I also have an ornate bichir and that is perhaps my fav fish of all. Welcome to the forum, I look forward to finally having someone else with African experience .

SirReal303 10-05-2013 02:00 AM

Definitely... I've actually lost a few mbuna due to the amount of protein I feed so I'm probably gonna leave those in the 55 until last and then trade them in for credit at a LFS with the female peacocks and a few other oddballs I'm gonna have left. Will most likely wind up just haps and peacocks until I dedicate it to my 3 frontosa and the calvus/alto comps when they get bigger. Moved 8 fish over so far though... 2 male venustus, 2 electric blue ahli, 2 exochromis anagenys, 1 male masoni peacock, and 1 male otter point jake peacock. Starting to look decent. Probably gonna move my adult calvus or obliquidens/nyererei next. You'll have to catch the next youtube vid, should be a good one.

And as for the ornate's, amazing fish. Mine is like half the size of my endlicheri but tryin to get him sized up so they can be together. Not many people appreciate bichir's, nice to see someone does.
