Can you have a gourami only tank?
I am thinking about getting a 20 gallon high specifically for gouramis. What do you guys think? Or would a 20 long be better? I currently have pearls and gold gouramis in communitiy tanks, but how many and what gouramis would all get along in a 20 gallon tank? Thanks :-D

Hi. Pearls and golds together would definately need the 50g. The more surface area the better. How many do you have? Angels do well in a tall tank, but if eveerythings going well i would probably leave things as they are. It's hard to say which g's get along it's mostly trial and error but careful planting ( fake or real plants) can be helpful, try to interrupt the field of vision from one side fo the tank to the other. I have a female gold 4" withdwarfs and theres no trouble . But you never know. For 20g tank a honey and a powder blue dwarfs do well together, but that would be it for a 2og or 1 flame or 1 neon dwarf which have more tendancy to fight. Yes you can have an exclusive gourami tank, but it would have to be large 50 or 75 gallon and heavily planted in addition you'll need bottom feeders which leads to "community" again.I have a 50 and i can't see another blue or gold in it

Thanks, I think I'm actually going to use a 20 gallon for breeding bettas! Haha I have a pearl gourami and 2 golds in my 50 gallon community. They all get along :) I think I'll leave everyone where they are for now. Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it!
