Hey all, I was just wondering where abouts you have the water level end in your aquariums? I went in pets at home and they have all the water full to top almost, I have never done this I have a gap between my water and top of the tank so that my air pump and filter are a little lower from the lights and not so much spray ends up there, I once also heard that there is more oxygen in the tank this way coz of the gap and air? unless that was someone being silly lol. Anyways here is a photo let me know what you think :)

I keep my tanks filled to the lower portion of the band that goes around the top. The water itself is oxygenated by the air pump and filter. I would think the less water you have in the tank would make the tank fill with waste faster, with the size of the fish you have in there. It looks like a good 2 or so inches of water, which could be close to 10 gallons give or take a few. I always recommend live low light plants as well to help with the water quality and oxygen.

I'm not a pro at this yet but there are allot in here who can better clarify an answer for you.

I also keep my tanks filled to the bottom of the top band.

I keep my as high as it will go, almost to the top. Is that ok as I see everyone seems to keep it at the bottom of the band? Thanks

The only reason I leave mine away from the top is to keep from a flood if my overflow clogs for some reason.
