Cheap Tank Accesories?
Does anyone know of any fake plants I could use for a fish tank I don't have to spend $5 a pop on? Like silk plants from the dollar store of a plastic boquet of greens at Jo-Anns? I'm on a lower budget. Ideas/suggestions appreciated!
You might try hobby and craft stores. Some carry artificial plants for arrangements. You would want to ensure there was no metal exposed ,such as stems. And I would steer away from any that looked painted. I might then run em through dish washer with no soap or rinse them under tapwater really well. I once used some very nice looking fern I found at such a place and though it looked nice in the tank,, Fish food kept getting caught up in it and fish couldn't really get to it so I ended up removing it.
Okay, thank you. Would the fabric ones be okay as well?
Iwould fear Dyes might leach into the aquarium and or fish could nip pieces off and get them lodged in intestines. Best to stick with plastic and nothing too small leaf wise.
Alright. I may end up freaking last minute and spending the money on plastic aquarium plants. I'm just trying to best suit the fish and my budget.
